Author Guidelines for Manuscript Submission

Nicomedia Legal Associates is inviting guest contributions for publication on the website from early career researchers, established scholars, and intellectual property  stakeholders and budding entrepreneurs ;  beyond academia.

We thank you for your interest in submitting your work. We welcome forward-looking, analytical, and conceptual manuscripts that explore the future of intellectual property, technology law, and global welfare policy.

Please ensure your manuscript adheres to the following guidelines before submission. 

1. Scope and Approach

  • Forward-Looking Focus: Submissions must be anticipatory, looking 5 to 50 years into the future.
  • Conceptual & Qualitative: We prioritize well-reasoned legal analysis, scenario-based arguments, and policy critiques.                            * Empirical data, mathematical modeling, or statistical analyses are not our core audience .
  • Exclusion: We do not accept narrow, backward-looking case studies, or purely descriptive historical assessments.

2. Manuscript Specifications

    • Word Count: Articles should ideally range between 4,000 and 8,000 words (including endnotes).
    • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, accessible British English (UK English)  suited for an international audience of policymakers and legal professionals.
    • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) only. PDF submissions will not be reviewed.
    • Formatting: Double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font, with 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides. 
     

3. Submission Elements

Every submission package must contain two separate files to facilitate a blind review process:

  1. Title Page (File 1):
    • Complete title of the manuscript.
    • Full name, institutional affiliation (if any), and short biography (50–100 words) for each author.
    • Contact information (email address) and ORCID of the corresponding author.
  2. Anonymized Manuscript (File 2):
    • Title of the manuscript.
    • An abstract of 150 to 250 words summarizing the core argument and future implications.
    • 4 to 6 keywords for indexing.
    • The full body text should be anonymised.
  3. Style and Citations
      • Citation System: Please avoid or use footnotes, minimally . We accept either APA Style or standard legal citation formatting (Oxford OSCOLA), provided it is applied consistently throughout the text.
      • Tone: Authors should present complex legal and technological concepts in direct, universally accessible prose, avoiding unnecessary academic jargon.

4. Editorial Policies & Terms

  • Originality: We will not consider content that another peer-reviewed publication has already published.
  • Conference Papers: Papers that have been presented at conferences but have not been formally published in conference proceedings or journals are fully eligible.
  • Guideline Amendments: We reserve the right to make adjustments to author, submission, and other guidelines at any time and without notice.
  • Copyright Ownership: Author/s retain the underlying copyright to their research, findings, and intellectual concepts. However, upon acceptance, the specific physical manuscript, including its layout, formatting, editorial changes, and final published design, becomes the exclusive property of Nicomedia Legal Associates LLP, under CC BY 4.0 License and will be published under the name of the author.
  • No Royalties. Author/s understands and agrees that Author will not be entitled to any royalty or other payment in connection with the rights granted in this Agreement or the Publisher’s use of the Article or any Additional Material.
  • In case Author/s include any content published in copyrighted material, such as figures and tables, or quoted text exceeding Fair Use parameters. The Author/s must provide proof of written permissions to the publication. *Please note that authors are responsible for acquiring permission to use data or media they did not create. 
  • At the time of acceptance, Author/s must also sign Nicomedia Legal Associates’s author agreement form. Once authors submit their signed forms, the publication may publish the initial upcoming manuscript/article information (that shall include its title and abstract)  on its website.
